BATTLE CREEK (WTVB) – Branch County’s representative in the House on Capitol Hill, Republican Tim Walberg, has signed on to an effort to have the headquarters for Cyber Security in the U.S. to be located at nearby Kellogg Field. The Michigan Congressional delegation has jointly written a letter to the Department of Defense that the Air National Guard base would be a perfect location for the Nation’s Cyber Operations Squadron. That would be the team responsible for the nation’s Cyber-Security. The base is already home to the 110th Cyber Force which has provided cyber ops for everything from the Air Force to President Obama’s last inauguration. They say 22 of the state’s Colleges and Universities turn out cyber security majors. They say the infrastructure is already here, the overhead would be low and a workforce is available.
Could Kellogg Field be the new home for Cyber Security?
