UNDATED (WTVB) – If you wonder why there are so many shootings, a new study says nearly ten percent of all Americans are angry, impulsive, and carrying a gun. The findings published Wednesday in the journal “Behavioral Sciences and the Law” add that almost two-percent of Americans with anger issues carry their guns outside the home. The new research also indicates that the 300-million-plus guns owned by U.S. citizens are disproportionately owned by people prone to angry, impulsive behavior, and who are in the habit of keeping their guns close at hand. The study suggests that measures to reduce gun violence should focus less on mental illness and more on violent behavior.
