COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Volunteers at CHC, the Community Health Center of Branch County, will be honored during National Volunteer Week, April 13th through the 17th. CHC will host a recognition dinner for all active volunteers at the hospital and CHC Hospice volunteers Thursday, April 16th at the Community Care and Conference Center. Spouses and significant others are invited to accompany the volunteer, recognizing that they are also an integral part of the volunteer program.
During National Volunteer Week, CHC will be decorated with banners and bulletin boards thanking the volunteers, and a small gift will be given to each active volunteer during the dinner as a token of appreciation.
Diane Gibbs, CHC volunteer director, says it’s all about a wonderful group of people who give their time, talents, and efforts unselfishly and they can’t be thanked enough for what they do for CHC. The theme for Volunteer Week at CHC this year is: “Hands That Serve, Hearts That Care”. There are approximately 125 active volunteers who assist in a variety of areas in and outside of the hospital including the cancer center, outpatient services center, gift shop, welcome center, dietary services, clerical services, facility operations, clinics, and many other CHC departments. There are currently 24 hospice volunteers. During the 2014/2015 year, CHC volunteers donated 15,000 hours to the Community Health Center.
