COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Lace up your running shoes and start training because the CHC Community Health Center of Branch County 5K Fun Run/Walk is just around the corner. The chance to participate in this year’s 5K coming up on Saturday, May 23, is now available. CHC has made it easier to register by making forms available in different locations around the community and on the CHC website. CHC hosts the 5K Fun Run/Walk with the goal of raising money for programs. This year all proceeds will again go to the Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run participants will begin running the course immediately following the start of the 5K participants, which concludes the culmination of their 10 week program. Registration forms can be accessed through CHC at www.chcbc.com. The 5K Fun Run/Walk information and registration form is located on the main page. At CHC, registration forms may be picked up at the welcome center or in the marketing department. The forms will also be available at some of the 5K sponsors’ locations and health and fitness centers around the community. To make the registration process even easier, CHC will send a registration form by mail or email by calling 517-279-5282 or email at marketing@chcbc.com.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk starts at 8 a.m. with registration between 7:15-7:45 a.m. at the Branch County Fair Grounds. T-shirts will be provided to those who register by May 8. Medals will be given to the first, second, and third place runners in each age category and the top overall male and female will each receive a $50 gift card. There is a $20.00 entry fee for individuals, a $40.00 entry fee for families of five (additional $10 each), $15 for CHC employees and a $10.00 fee for those under 16. Registration will also take place the morning of the event for $5 more. Once again this year’s race will use chip timing.
