QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy High School’s Spring Fling Communitywide Service Day is all set for tomorrow. The projects, which are done through seminar classes at QHS, will get underway Friday morning at 8:15 a.m. and continue until 11 a.m. Then it’s a cookout at the school along with outdoor activities such as whiffle ball, corn hole, and human foosball for the kids before they all head inside for a talent show.
The service work sites for the students include the Humane Society, QBSA Fields, the local health clinic, the Quincy Park and the downtown area. There’s also a food drive that includes a competition at the high school and collection of food from the elementary and middle school as well as from houses within the village of Quincy.
Meijer helps out by donating bags for use in the food drive and all the donations are taken to the Sunshine Food Pantry at the Union Church. Quincy residents are asked to put out their bags of non-perishable food for pick up in a visible place by 8:15 a.m. Friday.
