LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Politico is reporting that Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will not make a run for president in 2016. The website cites a pair of anonymous sources close to the Republican governor, with one noting Snyder is “concerned about solving the problems in Michigan and the time commitment needed for out-of-state travel.” The governor has fueled speculation that he was weighing a White House bid due to his travel around the country, talking up his success in the state’s economic turnaround since he was elected in 2010.
