LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has put an end to speculation that he’ll be running for president. Last night, the governor released a statement saying he will not seek the White House in 2016. In the statement, Snyder also called Michigan “America’s comeback state,” touted the state’s lowest unemployment in 14 years and said Detroit is on the right path to becoming a great city again. Analysts say Snyder’s resume is comparable with other Midwestern governors considering a bid for the GOP nomination, however they say he is too moderate to do well in most primaries and lacks national name recognition.
