UNDATED (WTVB) – Wednesday night in high school baseball, Union City dropped a pair to visiting Centreville, 6-1 and 10-0. The white-hot Bulldogs improve to 17-1, while the Chargers drop to 14-13.
In girls soccer, Coldwater picked up their second straight league win with a 1-0 shutout at Charlotte. The Lady Cardinals’ lone goal came off a direct kick from Valeria Vargas Ocampo with 16:05 to play in the first half. Coldwater outshot the Orioles 18-1 for their 8th shutout of the year, setting a new school record, as the Cardinals improve to 9-6-2 overall, 2-5 in the Interstate 8. Shelby Bowers had 1 save in goal.
Brooke Neitzert scored with 14 seconds remaining as the Coldwater JV soccer team tied Charlotte 1-1.
In boys golf, Bronson finished 9th out of 12 teams at the White Pigeon Invitational with a team score of 453. The host Chiefs won the tournament at the Klinger Lake Country Club with a 330. Individually for the Vikings, Ryan O’Rourke shot a 104, Sawyer Maddox a 105, Logan Kenny a 118, and Zach Smurr a 126.
Coldwater hosted a JV Jamboree with Sturgis, Lakeview, and Harper Creek at the Coldwater Golf Course and the host Cardinals came in 3rd place. Lakeview won the event shooting a 184, with Harper Creek 2nd with a 201, Coldwater with a 205, and Sturgis had a 263. Coldwater was led by Jacob Fair who was co-medalist for the event with a 46. Tanner Bowers had a 49, Brendan Hanna a 50, Collin Outwater and Cole Targgart each had a 60, and Dillon Gagnon rounded out the scoring with a 64. Playing as alternates, Joe Hicks fired a 53, Andrew Arlt shot a 62, and Gray Harris carded a 66.
In JV girls tennis, Coldwater closed its season with a 6-0 loss at Sturgis.
In track and field, the Quincy girls team beat Athens 72-64, but lost to Reading 100-37 in a double duel meet. Against Athens, Katie Spalding was a double winner in the pole vault and 100 meter hurdles, while Haley Bean was a double winner in the 400 meter dash and 3,200 meter run.
The Quincy boys beat Athens 73.5-62.5. Nathan Nohr was a double winner in the 800 meter and 3,200 meter runs. The Orioles also beat Reading 80-56. Nohr won the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs, while Jonathon Purvis was a double winner in the shot put and discus.

In girls soccer, Quincy plays at Hillsdale. In boys golf, Coldwater competes in the Interstate 8 Tournament at Bedford Valley, while Bronson hosts Quincy and Climax-Scotts in a tri-match at Bella Vista Golf Course.

In middle school tennis, the Legg Middle School B team defeated Angola 7-1. Getting wins for the Cardinals were Stuart Sobeske at #1 singles, Merna Yaldo at #2 singles, Madison Morgan at #3 singles, Ben Kinsey at #4 singles, Mae Blansit and Emma Moore at #1 doubles, Diona Kashian and Lanae Henderson at #2 doubles, and Allison Caswell and Morgan Raboske at #3 doubles.
