COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the Memorial Day holiday this weekend, Neitzerts Greenhouse and Florist of Coldwater will give out over 250 free roses to be used at ceremonies and to be placed on graves of Americas fallen heroes throughout the county. The free roses will be available at the greenhouse on Fiske Road, 1 1/2 mile south of U.S.12 Saturday May 23 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday May 24 from 1-4 p.m.
This is part of a nationwide floral tribute spearheaded by The Memorial Day Flowers Foundation, involving hundreds of florists and many local community ceremonies across the U.S. These roses have been brought in especially for this Memorial Day tribute.
Each rose taken also allows the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation to place additional roses on the graves at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington D.C. Their goal is to be able to put a rose on each of the over 250,000 graves at Arlington.
