COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A few limbs and wires came down yesterday afternoon around Branch County with sustained winds of 20 mph with some gusts close to 40 mph. North of Coldwater, a portion of Old 27 was shut down for almost an hour to detour traffic around the area after several wires came down on East Girard Road.
The Coldwater Fire Department was called to help douse a couple of small fires that broke out with arching wires that set off sparks and burned a transformer. No injuries were reported.
There was also a report of minor damage to a home in Coldwater on Elm Street from a downed limb.
