GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – May was another strong month for the West Michigan economy as the recovery continues to chug along. According to regional economist Dr. Brian Long’s monthly survey of purchasing managers, new orders fell slightly but remained strong, while employment remained unchanged, production rose slightly and purchases fell.
Dr. Long added that employment has shown consistent improvement for the past 14 months, and that May was one of the stronger months in recent history for the office furniture industry.
