COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Hundreds of youth soccer players and their families will be flooding Coldwater this weekend, as Branch County Region 1289 hosts the annual Section 8 Tournament. Teams will come from all over the state of Michigan, although 13 teams from the local region are partcipating.
54 total teams are signed up for the three day tournament, ranging from U-10 to U-19. U-19 games will be played at the city of Coldwater Herritage Park fields off Northshore Drive, while the rest of the games will be played at the AYSO Creal Soccer Complex at the corner of State and Marshall. Coldwater last hosted the tournament three years ago.
Preliminary round games will be played Friday night and Saturday, with the semi-finals and finals on Sunday.
