COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – On the local sports scene, in Mickey Mantle Summer League baseball, Coldwater last night swept a doubleheader at home over Jonesville 3-0 and 16-1. In the five inning opener, Alex Everett went the distance in a pitcher’s duel with a 4-hitter and 2 walks. Coldwater managed only 2 hits in the win. Bryce Barringer had a triple and scored two runs.
In the nightcap three inning mercy rule game, Lucas Santure picked up the victory on the mound. Cameron Barnes had two doubles and 2 RBI’s.
The Redbirds improved their record to 11-2 and they play tomorrow night at Bronson.
