COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council has taken action to move ahead on the Tibbits parking lot reconstruction project and also introduced a series of zoning ordinance changes. The council Monday night gave conditional approval to a bid from local firm Carpenter Creations for the Tibbits job at $1.44 million and added $64,000 for a concreate parking lot surface, rather than asphalt.
The notice of award resolution for Carpenter came in at $200,000 under the next lowest bid and a half million dollars lower than the third bid, those other two submitted by firms from Battle Creek.
The council also agreed to introduce a series of zoning ordinance amendments that were approved earlier this month by the Coldwater City Planning Commission.
