WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) – As you cruise around Branch County today, did you know that you’ve driven into the record books, so to speak? The Federal Highway Traffic Administration says that in April 2015, motorists around the U.S. logged nearly 270-billion-miles on the road, making it the highest month on record.
AAA says we can expect that trend to continue this July 4th holiday weekend. They are anticipating the best numbers for travel that they have seen since 2007.
Motorists should find a bit lower gas prices but higher prices at motels and hotels. They expect 42-million Americans will travel 50 miles or more this Independence Day.
