ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A Michigan man was seriously injured last night in a one car crash in northeast Indiana near Crooked Lake and deputies say alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the accident. When emergency personnel arrived on scene at the intersection of County Roads 200 North and 200 West, they located a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix on its top in a field. The driver, 46-year old Lawrence Wilson from Angola was outside the vehicle and his passenger, 48-year old Lloyd Wilson from Three Rivers was trapped inside the car.
According to a news release, Lloyd suffered a possible fractured arm, fractured jaw and back pain and was transported to Cameron ER, where the driver was also treated for cuts to his arms and legs. From witness statements, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and struck a concrete median and a guardrail before going into a ditch where it flipped over onto its top.
The accident was reported around 9:30 p.m. Monday night.
