GIRARD, MI (WTVB) – A big summer event for the town of Girard is happening this coming weekend. The Annual Summer Block Party will be held on Saturday at the Girard United Methodist Church.
The activities will kick-off at 4 p.m. and go till 7 p.m. including free food, a variety of musical groups performing, an inflatable obstacle course, kids games and more. Church pastor Cyd Idsinga says the entire community is invited to come out and celebrate summer, adding it’s a great time to get to know your neighbors and join in fellowship.
The Girard United Methodist Church is located on Marshall Road seven miles north of downtown Coldwater. The church offers opportunities for all ages to get involved and supports local organizations such as the Family Promise of Branch County and Beginnings Care for Life, as well as their own missions such as a summer breakfast program.
