COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An update on the Animal Control Shelter building fire this spring is on the agenda for today’s Branch County Board of Commissioners Work Meeting. At last word, the county was still waiting to hear from their insurance company on the damages from the May 28, 2015 blaze that gutted much of the animal control shelter.
A temporary impound has been set up at the Branch County jail where the trustees have been caring for the animals. The Humane Societies of Branch County and St. Joseph County continue to also lend their assistance to the situation.
Commissioner’s Work Meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Branch County Courthouse.
