STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – A Coldwater woman was involved in a two-vehicle accident last night in Steuben County, Indiana. According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Lyndsey Boyd of Coldwater was traveling southbound on CR 300 West at 10:22pm and failed to yield the right-of-way to an eastbound pickup on SR 120 driven by 17-year-old Madison Funk of Fremont. The vehicles collided at the intersection, with Boyd’s car ending up in a ditch and Funk’s truck in a nearby cornfield. Funk was pinned inside her truck and had to be freed by the Orland Fire Department; both Funk and Boyd were transported by Steuben County EMS to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with minor injuries. Both subjects were wearing their seatbelts, and their airbags did deploy. It’s unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
