BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s Bronson Township was the location last night of a State Police stolen vehicle chase which ended with the suspect driver being arrested on three felony charges. It was around 6:45 p.m. when troopers from the Coldwater Post attempted to stop a Ford F-450 flat bed pick up truck for improper plates. It was later discovered the pickup was stolen from LaGrange, Indiana.
State Police said the 34-year old suspect from the Three Rivers area fled south on Saint Joseph Road from U.S. 12 before pulling over and giving up. A news release said he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was booked at the Branch County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of meth, and fleeing & eluding Fourth Degree.
Troopers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen 10 days ago and last night, the pickup was turned over the owner at the scene.
