COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council last night talked about the nearly 40-year old tennis courts at Heritage Park but there was no movement past the discussion phase, at least for now. City Manager Jeff Budd said his presentation on the courts was done to make people aware of their aging condition and that something eventually needs to be done.
Also last night, the council reached a consensus regarding the traffic signal at State and Marshall Streets. They agreed it should run like the Old 27-Garfield Rd. traffic light, full operation from 6 a.m.-10 pm, then four-way blinking red from10 p.m.-6 a.m. The current Marshall-State pattern has the light flashing red/yellow from 7pm-6am.
And the council also passed on first reading an ordinance to rezone the property at 632 Race Street from Coldwater Township zoning to City of Coldwater AA One Family Agricultural. The zoning change would help pave the way for a proposed 30 acre RV park on the city’s west side adjacent to South Lake. The council will have a second reading on the ordinance amendment and consider adoption at their meeting on September 14, 2015.
