COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An injury rollover accident for a mother-to-be late yesterday afternoon in Coldwater Township sent the18-year old woman who is 4-months pregnant to the hospital after the car she was riding in crashed around 5 pm. The driver, 19-year old Zach Purvis of Quincy lost control along Lott Road near Fox Road not far from U.S. 12. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department said after passing the rail road crossing and entering a curve, Purvis lost control and the car fished tailed and then went off the roadway into a cornfield, rolling over twice.
Purvis and his passenger, Karrie Palmerton, of Coldwater, were outside their 2005 Saturn 4-door when deputies reached the scene. Palmerton suffered head injuries and lacerations but she was treated and released from the Community Health Center of Branch County as was Purvis, who had only minor injuries. Both of them were wearing their seat belts.
The Coldwater Fire Department responded along with Life Care Ambulance. Quincy Village Police also assisted at the scene.
