COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Community Health Center of Branch County’s financial recovery from multi-million dollar losses the last two years continues with the latest figures again showing strong outpatient program numbers leading the way. The hospital’s Board of Trustees last night held its regular August meeting and heard that in July, outpatient revenue was $865,000 above what had been projected and $273,000 better than the year ago period.
Those numbers helped counter a weak inpatient performance of $665,000 below projections and $302,000 less than the prior year. Year to date, the health center has produced a profit every month in 2015 with the July net income of $69,000 compared to a loss of $121,000 a year ago.
CHC remains in pursuit of a strategic partner, looking into a possible management agreement with ProMedica Health Systems of Toledo, Ohio. Any such deal which could eventually lead to ProMedica acquiring the hospital in Coldwater would need final approval from the Branch County Board of Commissioners.
