COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Education, meeting in special session last night, approved a contract for the school district’s new Superintendent Terry Boguth, who also will continue in her role as Chief Financial Officer. The agreement runs through the end of June for the 2015-2016 academic year with a salary of $130,000.
The School Board last night was tying up some final details in advance of the opening day of classes next Tuesday and that included Boguth’s contract, which was set in motion August 24 when she was appointed to the post by the Board, effective August 26. Boguth, who has been CFO since June of 2014, replaces former Superintendent Tina Kerr, who resigned in the last week of August after 5 years on the job to take an executive position with the Michigan Association of School Administrators.
In other business last night, the Board ratified a wages and benefits agreement with CESPA, the Coldwater Education Support Personnel Association, for the 2015-2016 school year. It covers around 100 workers such as secretaries, clerks, and transportation staff.
There’s no wage increase and a number of givebacks with the concessions including elimination of long term disability insurance. The CESPA union ratified the proposal on Wednesday.
