QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In an effort to provide better safety for students, the Village of Quincy and Quincy Community Schools have announced a series of traffic pattern changes around the district’s buldings, beginning with the first day of classes Monday. According to Village Manager Eric Zuzga, the traffic pattern changes include:
All traffic bound for Quincy school campus will have to enter from Orange or East Liberty
- · No traffic will be allowed on Fulton between Jefferson and US-12
- · Jefferson will be closed at Main for all eastbound traffic
- · Jefferson will be closed at Dally for all westbound traffic
- · Fulton will be one way between Orange and Jefferson- northbound
- · Once northbound traffic hits Jefferson, they will be able to go east or west on Jefferson and get to US-12 from either of those routes
The Village will have people at the following locations to help with directing traffic:
- · Fulton and Jefferson- directing people east or west
- · Main and Jefferson- stopping traffic from entering Jefferson St.
- · Jefferson and Dally- stopping people from going further to the west
- · Fire Department Parking Lot access to Jefferson- insuring that no one enters on to Jefferson
- · Fulton and US-12 will be blocked by equipment
Zuzga says they do have a few days delay in finishing construction around the schools, alhtough these changes are not directly tied to that work. Asphalt is going in Thursday, September 10, with the top coat finishing on Saturday, September 12. The road will be open for traffic heading north bound on Fulton, with no access to Fulton Street from Jefferson.
