COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County property owners and those across Michigan are reminded that in most local city and township jurisdictions, Monday September 14, 2015 is the last day to pay your summer property taxes without penalty. After Monday, a 1% penalty is added and continues to be added on the first of each month until the taxes are paid.
You should contact your local treasurer for the time and place they will be available to accept your payment. By Michigan law, all treasurers must be available on September 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. An example of how additional hours are sometimes made available is Branch County’s Ovid Township where treasurer Shelly AcMoody will be at the Township Hall on South Angola Road Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
