COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There was a garage fire early today in the City of Coldwater. A neighbor spotted the smoke around 2:45 this morning coming from the structure next to the house at 187 Grand Street. The couple living there in the home at the corner of Grand and Alden Streets was inside the residence at the time and escaped injury. The Coldwater Fire Department had the blaze under control by 3 a.m. while firefighters were able to prevent any damage to the homes on either side of the garage whose contents included a motorcycle. No official word yet on how the fire got started. The Fire Department cleared the scene and returned to station after being on the job for about an hour and a half.
