COMSTOCK, MI (WTVB) – The crash of a British Royal Air Force helicopter Sunday in Kabul, Afghanistan has claimed the life of an airman from Kalamazoo County, one of two Americans killed in the incident. The Pentagon has not released information about any American deaths, but family members have confirmed on social media that U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Greg Kuhse died when the helicopter crashed while landing. According to British military officials, the crash was “an accident and not the result of insurgent activity.” Kuhse was a 1995 graduate of Comstock High School, enlisted in the Air Force in 1996, and was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.
