COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Freeze Watch that’s been issued for late Saturday night into Sunday morning should boost the effectiveness of the message Family Promise of Branch County plans to deliver tonight outside St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Family Promise will erect a Box City in front of the church in downtown Coldwater beginning at 5pm, and members of the Girls Scouts and Cub Scout Pack 433 will sleep in the boxes overnight along with Family Promise Director Patty Roberts in an effort to raise awareness of the homeless problem in Branch County. Monetary donations will be collected in the St. Mark’s parking lot, along with blankets, new pillows, and hygiene and paper products. Family Promise has served over 425 families since it opened 10 years ago.
