COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Last spring, the Coldwater High School choir program reached out to the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club to be considered for a grant to go towards fundraising efforts. In addition to their request for assistance in meeting the need for annual department necessities, the campaign had goals of purchasing new concert apparel and folders for the high school choir program.
Last month, choir director, Caitlin McDougall, booster’s representative Twyla Slack, and members of the Balladiers attended the morning Rotary meeting to discuss the needs of the program further with the members of the club. The students even lead the rotary members in a few selections from the rotary song book.
On October 15, the club president Terra Depew presented a check for $3,000 in support of the program to McDougall and CHS principal Bill Milnes. According to Milnes, the Choir Department, the Boosters, and most importantly the students are all very grateful and humbled by the generous donation and show of support for the growing choir program.
