COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Senior citizens will receive safety tips from City of Coldwater Director of Public Safety Mark Bartell at the HC Burnside Senior Center on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. He will be discussing Personal Safety and his presentation will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Bartell is the Director of Public Safety for the City of Coldwater. He has been a police officer for 38 years, and will draw upon his experiences to provide seniors with tips on how to stay safe as they go about their daily activities.
“Come get the inside story on copper buttons,” Bartell said when asked for a preview of his presentation.
Amy Duff, the Executive Director of the Commission on Aging, explained that Bartell has spoken at the center in the past and they are happy to have him return. “He shows a genuine desire to be a part of his community and keep seniors safe,” said Duff.
The Elder Abuse Prevention Coalition is sponsoring the event as part of a continuing series of seminars. The coalition is comprised of many local agencies who care about Branch County seniors and want to make the community a safer place for them.
