COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Branch County woman arrested over the weekend for allegedly hosting a beer-laden pot smoking birthday bash for her 15-year son and two dozen others who are underage remains behind bars after being formally charged Monday in District Court. 35-year old Krista Leigh Kaser was arraigned on 6 counts of furnishing alcohol and drugs to minors along with possession of marijuana as well as a probation violation. She’s being held on $20,000 bond with 20% allowed.
Michigan State Police raided the party late Friday night at Kaser’s residence on Mason Road in Coldwater Township. The youngest person that registered alcohol in her system was 14-years old. The woman’s 18-year old son also booked on the same alcohol and drug charges his mother faces.
Troopers said they found marijuana in the house, approximately 7 cases of beer and a gallon bottle of hard liquor.
