CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Victim Services Unit was called this morning to respond to a house fire in California Township. There were no injuries in the blaze that was reported around 8 a.m. in the southeast corner of the county on Haight Road near Locus Road. The Montgomery Fire Department responded to the alarm and around an hour later, they put out a call for mutual aid from the Quincy Fire Department to help douse the flames in the 2 story farm house. The fire apparently began on the second floor and spread from there with extensive damage. It’s expected the home will be declared a total loss.
