COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With Veterans Day being commorated Wednesday, benefits for veterans have been in the focus this week and Charles Scott, the Branch County Director of the Veterans Affairs, is getting the word out on a Veterans Benefits Information Night happening next month in Coldwater. It’s scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, starting at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Temple.
According to Scott, there are still many vets who are not aware of all of the available benefits and programs. Scott stresses most veterans may qualify for general help through Trust and Relief funds and most widows don’t realize they may have benefits too. He also says there is a pension for lower income veterans and spouses.
The Branch County Veteran’s office provides transportation for veterans free of charge to any VA facilities in Michigan.
Next month’s Veterans Benefits Information Night is sponsored by EZ-ACCESS.
