BURLINGTON, MI (WTVB) – It should be a nicer Christmas for about a dozen dogs found in bad shape in a home in Burlington Township. The animals were removed and deputies say they will forward a request for cruelty charges against their owner. Authorities were alerted by a neighbor who was angry that one of the dogs had gotten loose and eaten his cat. Deputies say they also found the partially eaten body of a puppy in the compound where the starving dogs were chained to dog houses. The dogs were taken from the home on 10 1/2 Mile Road and brought to the County Animal Shelter.
