COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Sophomore Jasmine Wellet has been named by her teammates as the Most Valuable Player on the Coldwater varsity girls volleyball team for this past season. Awards were handed out at the team’s postseason banquet Saturday. Wellet also picked up awards for most aces, most digs, and most kills. She and her sister Jamie were both named to the Interstate 8 All Conference and Region 12 All Region teams.
In other team selected awards, senior Shelby Kahler was named Outstanding Defensive Player, Jasmine Wellet named Outstanding Offensive Player, Drue Mullin named Outstanding Passer, Most Improved Player was Megan Gallup, Rookie of the Year was freshman Tyler Scheid, and the Super Spirit Award was shared by Carly Howell and Shelby Kahler.
The varsity volleyball team was also named Academic All State, with a combined GPA of 3.456. The Lady Cardinals closed out their season losing in the finals of their district tournament.
