COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Branch County is close to $1.80 a gallon, the same as the Michigan average, which according to GasBuddy.com is the cheapest in the country. AAA Michigan says that’s a drop of 12-cents in the last week.
However, GasBuddy’s Patrick DeHaan says he expects we’ll see a significant increase today to around $1.99 a gallon. According to DeHaan, the hike will come as a result of gas stations and their corporate headquarters examining their profit and loss margins and seeing how terrible they have been for the past few days.
According to AAA Michigan, the last time prices were this low in Michigan was February 25, 2009. GasBuddy spotters have found prices just above $1.50 a gallon in the Kalamazoo area.
