COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s improving economy will be getting another boost next year as American Copper & Brass has announced it will be moving its main distribution center and corporate headquarters from Hillsdale to the City of Coldwater in 2016. The plumbing and heating parts distributor said Monday that the warehouse is slated to be operational by February while the Corporate Offices are scheduled to be at the Coldwater location by April.
The site for American Copper in Coldwater will be the former Sport Truck USA building on South Michigan Avenue which has been vacant for more than two years. A news release said American Copper and Brass will be retaining their current location in Hillsdale for maintaining valued and ongoing service to the community and contractors.
American Copper said the Coldwater location provides a state of the art, fully climate-controlled facility and presents greater efficiencies and important benefits related to distribution/transportation logistics which are mutually beneficial for customers, contractors and the company. They said the upcoming expansion also ensures all current employees will be retained. There was no immediate information available on the number of employees that will be moving from Hillsdale to work at the new site in Coldwater.
The company’s three other facilities are in Traverse City, Waukesha, Wisconsin and Newcastle, Delaware.
