COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s jobless rate held basically steady in October at 4.2% compared to 4.1% in September while a year ago, it was 5.2%. 125 fewer people in the county were working this year in October when the labor force shrunk by 100 people.
Southwest Michigan displayed typical seasonal payroll job changes, as education private and public returned to full staffing but leisure and hospitality services continued to cut jobs.
