CASSOPOLIS, MI (WTVB) – In Branch County high school sports, the Girls basketball season for the Bronson Lady Vikings opened last night with a BCS East Conference victory at Cassopolis with Bronson winning 57-31. Kesley Robinson had 14 points with 13 for Alexa Ratkowski. Bronson plays its home opener on Monday against Union City.
The Boys basketball season tips off next week with games for Coldwater, Bronson, and Union City on Tuesday while Quincy starts its schedule on Thursday. The wrestling season also gets underway next week.
The Michigan High School Volleyball Coaches Association has announced its 2015 All Region teams. Region 12 covers Branch, Calhoun, and Barry Counties and Class C State Champion Bronson had the most named All-Region with 5 honored with 2 from Coldwater, 3 from Union City and 2 from Quincy. The Bronson players were Kirin Cekander, Kiera Lasky, Jill Pyles, Alexa Ratkowski, and Allison Sikorski. Coldwater was represented by Jamie Wellet and Jasmine Wellet while from Quincy, it was Cailyn Cook and Mackenzie Moore. And Union City’s All-Region players were Haley Harty, Haley McIntosh and Rachel Wing.
