STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – There was an incident with a weapon near the Branch County-St. Joseph County line late Saturday night and Michigan State Police say two Sturgis women were able to escape injury. Troopers say the women were on their way home along U.S. 12 from a shopping trip to Coldwater when their vehicle was struck by an object tossed from another vehicle near the county line, or St. Joseph Road.
According to State Police, occupants of the vehicle from which the object was thrown flagged the women down. A news release said four persons got out of the vehicle and pulled a weapon on the women, who were able escape and call for help. The suspect vehicle was described as a 1990s dark blue Buick. Troopers searched for the car but were unable to locate it.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Michigan State Police.
