COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In Branch County high school sports, there’s Quincy and Union City Girls varsity basketball on the schedule for today while the Holiday Break continues for most of the rest of the teams until next week. In the Girls hoops action, Union City is at Battle Creek St. Philip this afternoon while tonight, Quincy plays at home against Climax Scotts. Yesterday in freshman Girls basketball, Coldwater lost 42-31 to Grand Rapids Christian in the opening round of the Comstock Christmas Tournament. Valy Yaldo had 19 points and 5 steals while Kelsi Herlan added 12 points and 6 rebounds and also had 5 steals. Coldwater finishes up the Comstock tournament today with a game against Sturgis.
The Coaches Corner is on break this week and will return on Monday.
