COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Calhoun County teenager accused of felonies in Branch County was lodged at the jail in Coldwater yesterday after being released Tuesday from the St. Joseph County jail. 17-year old Codie Lee Young of East Leroy spent nearly 6 months at the lockup in Centreville for larceny and breaking and entering.
In Branch County, Young faces 3 counts of motor vehicle theft and breaking and entering. Those alleged crimes occurred last May near Sherwood. The charges include stealing a Ford Explorer from a carport on Oliverda Road. Sheriff’s deputies say he also stole a go-cart and a bike.
His bond has been set at $30,000. He was bound over to Branch County Circuit Court following a District Court preliminary exam last month with a pre-trial hearing set for January 25, 2016.
