COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A report on the City of Coldwater’s drinking water and the Board of Public Utilities safety and testing standards was presented at last night’s city council meeting as BPU Director Paul Beckhusen wanted to reassure the council and the public on the safety of the local water supply in light of the crisis in Flint.
Beckhusen’s comments during his 20 minute update included a reminder that all of the city’s water comes from groundwater aquifers so unlike in Flint where their source is surface water, Coldwater and the BPU don’t have that ingredient in their treatment process which makes the city’s situation much different for the better.
