COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Residents of Flint, Michigan will soon be receiving almost 300 additional cases of water, thanks to a special drive hosted at Coldwater High School Friday. People were encouraged to bring in cases of water to the Coldwater vs Marshall boys and girls varsity basketball games to receive free admission.
294 cases of water were donated. Fans of the girls basketball teams donated 78 cases, with the boys basketball teams collecting 59 cases, and the girls gymnastics team collecting 56 cases of bottled water.
Organizers of the “Hydrate Vehicle City” drive have arranged for a truck from the Walmart Distribution Center in Coldwater to deliver the water to Flint, which is still under a state of emergency because of high levels of lead in the city water supply.
