COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A house fire in the City of Coldwater has been blamed on either a discarded cigarette or an incense container located on a bathroom floor. The occupants of the home at 237 Perkins Street were able to escape without injury.
Coldwater firefighters found smoke showing from the eaves of the 2 story residence when they arrived shortly after 6 p.m. Friday. A news release issued today said the flames originated in the downstairs bathroom and crawl space and that’s where it was contained. The floor and wall in the area sustained damage from the accidental blaze.
The fire department was on the job for an hour and a half. The loss to structure and contents was described as minor
