COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council has but one action item on the agenda for its regular meeting coming up Monday night, but it’s a big one. The city council is expected to approve a contract with MDOT for a $2.5 million road improvement project near the Clemens Food Group plant currently under construction north of the city limits.
The planned improvements include an extension of Fiske Road from Newton to Jonesville, along with resurfacing work on Newton and Jonesville Roads. $2.3 million of the project cost will be picked up via State Transportation Economic Development Funds, while the remaining $189,000 would be picked up by the city through its Local Development Finance Authority.
