COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater community showed once again over the weekend how Branch County can continue to be counted on for generosity when it comes to worthy causes with a need. Saturday night, more than $81,000 was raised at the St. Charles Borromeo Elementary Mardi Gras Auction.
The record amount of $81,529 to fund operations at the Catholic school should remain their net profit as organizers said the event also had $11,500 in business and personal donations for sponsored packages and to cover food expenses.
A few of the top selling live items included an Orlando, Florida week trip, Dinner at the Barefoot Grill with Father Mark, the 4th grade Back Yard BBQ package, Knights of Columbus Pheasant Hunt, the Kindergarten Christmas themed package, and Father’s Wallet to the tune of $4,200.
The administration and staff at St. Charles Borromeo School extended their thanks to all of the local businesses and individuals who gave of their time, talents and donations to make the 2016 Mardi Gras Auction possible.
