WASHINGTON, DC (WTVB) The first Congressional oversight committee hearing on Flint drew criticism because no one on the list of witnesses was in a key position of responsibility when critical decisions were made. That won’t happen the second time around. Governor Snyder has apparently volunteered to testify, saying he wants to lay out how government at all levels failed the people of Flint.
Also on the witness list, EPA Chief Gina McCarthy who has held onto her job, and the EPA’s Susan Hedman, Emergency Manager Darnell Earley, and former Mayor Dayne Walling who have either quit, announced resignations, or been booted out by voters since the crisis erupted. It could result in some revealing testimony, if the right questions are asked.
