COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There’s no school today across Branch County. In Coldwater, teachers also have the day off because of Farmer’s Day at the Branch Area Careers Center. In Quincy and Bronson, it’s a professional development day for teachers while in Union City, it’s time for their Mid-Winter break.
The Branch County Courthouse is also closed today for the President’s Day Holiday, the day set aside to celebrate the lives of George Washington and Abe Lincoln. That means no mail delivery Monday, and allthe nation’s stock markets are closed.
Many local government offices will ignore the holiday, but state and federal offices are observing and enjoying a three day weekend and the same goes for the Secretary of State’s office.
